Former Busted star Charlie Simpson has split from his long-term lover
Camilla Smith, we can reveal.

Pop's posh answer to the royal Chaz n Cam are no longer, after they
decided to call time on their two year relationship because gorgeous
Charlie, 19, wants a clean start.

Unlike their namesakes, who'll marry this year, the young couple will
not walk down the aisle, despite hunky Simpson once admitting Cammy
is the love of his life.  Following his departure from James Bourne
and Matt Jay, both 21, the bushy-eyebrowed one has gone solo in the
love stakes too.

A friend of the couple said:  "Charlie decided that with his new band
Fightstar going on, he wanted to concentrate on his career.

He thinks the world of Camilla, but they both accepted that their
relationship has run its course.  It's time to move on.

"Besides, trying to launch a band like Fightstar means that Charlie
needs to be seen to be single so that they can up the number of
female fans."

Charlie met Camilla, 21, while they were both at the �20,000 a year
Uppingham School in Leicestershire.  Since leaving, they have been an
item, even though he attempted to keep her a secret from his millions
of pubescent fans across Britain.

Our source continued: "Both Charlie and Camilla are sad, but so are
their friends who have knwon them as a couple for a long time now. 
There have been more than a few tears shed in the gang."

That will most certainly not be the case for his millions of young
fans, who have his poster adorning their bedroom walls, that's for
sure...
