So, tell us about Backstage Live
It's a three-hour live show every Sunday evening. The first and last hour are really us (Emma and co-presenter Anthony Crank) linking highlights from other MTV shows, but the middle hour is a magazine show with features and guests, celebrity and non-celebrity.
What kind of non-celebrity guests will you have?
Weird people! People who are a bit left-of-centre, but not so crazy that they have to be in a home.
Did you leave TRL because it was impossible working with your ex, TV's Alex Zane?
Well, it's always impossible to work with TV's Alex Zane. *Laughs.* No, it was nothing to do with Alex- MTV told me I wouldn't be doing it any more! Obviously, I was a bit bitter for a while, but now I'm quite glad.
Was it weird working with Alex while you were seeing him?
Alex is weird anyway! We never really wanted to work with each other, it just sort of happened. After we broke up, we got on so much better at work. I think Alex needs his own creative space, and maybe I invaded that by being there all the time with him on TRL. Does that sound wanky?
Not at all. So, as a fashion expert *Emma also presents MTV Style*, what do you think about that bizarre flat cap Alex began wearing?
That was my cap! He took it from me one day, and after a while decided that it was his. I thought it looked quite good on him, though.
You've done a raunchy photoshoot with men's mag Arena. Did you put limits on how much you'd bare?
Oh yes. We made it clear that I'd only do a combination of having something little on top and big on the bottom, or big on top and little on bottom.
So, there was no way they'd get shots of you with little on top and little on bottom?
No, that would've been a bikini shot, and I wouldn't want to do one of those. And I don't want to be in men's magazines every month with my kit off. It's not what I'm about.
How did you feel when, in the article accompanying the piece, they referred to your boyfriend Matt Jay as "that idiot from Busted"?
Well, it's a men's magazine, so I'd expect them to say something like that. I know he's not an idiot.
A couple of issues ago, Heat ran a picture of you driving Matt away from the rehab clinic, and we said it was proof you were still together. Were we right?
Oh yes, we're still seeing each other.
And how's he doing now?
He's doing really, really well. He's just taking it easy, focussing on his music. And he's busy moving house.
Did you like Busted's music?
No. *Laughs.* Well, it was difficult when I first started seeing Matt, because I did find their music annoying. The songs used to irritate me. But then I met them, and they were all such lovely guys, and before I knew it, I had one of their albums on my car stereo.
