JAMES Bourne is back with his brand new band Son Of Dork - however some of his new bandmates reveal they hated his old group Busted.

Welsh madman Dave Williams and drummer Danny Hall managed to work their magic at the auditions despite not being fans of James, Matt and Charlie's cheesy pop band.

The hunky five-piece - also made up of co-frontman and bassist Steve Rushton and guitarist Chris Leonard - release their new single Ticket Outta Loserville on Monday and admit they have all reached rock bottom at some point in their lives.

All the boys have had their hearts broken and former bad-boy Danny spoke about his troubled teenage life.

Hi - I think you guys are fantastic. Can you believe what has happened over the last few months?

All (apart from James) - It is amazing!

J – I can’t believe it too. It is doubly insane for me. I never expected to be in a band as big as Busted and now I'm starting out again.

Everyone has their lucky breaks but I’m thinking ‘When is my luck going to end’. If this band gets really big it would be nice to put it down to not being a fluke and instead down to our good songs.

D – We’ve been kicked straight into the music scene. Everyone has gone nuts. I can’t believe it. Obviously the Busted connection has helped a lot. So far everything has gone without a hitch so we’re waiting for something to go wrong!

S - I noticed I did have quite a gay fan base but now they have moved onto Dave.

You guys are releasing your single on the same day as Madonna – what chart position would you be happy with?

D – I don’t think being at No1 means anything these days. I mean Crazy Frog got there. However I’d love to get there just because it is such a tough week competition-wise.

J – If we got to No3 I would be very happy. Busted went in at No3 in a ridiculously hard week with their first single.

Have any of you ever felt like you were in Loserville?

C – All of us! If you get dumped you all end up in Loserville. It’s not good.

D – Yes I’ve been dumped.

J & S - Us too.

Dan – Me too. I also got sacked. When I was 17 I worked in a chicken factory packing dead chickens in Queensbury. I was meant to work for 12 hours but I couldn’t stand it and just worked six and got the sack. I mean I was putting giblets in boxes.

I also worked in a video shop and got sacked for watching an 18 rated film whilst kids were about. It wasn’t a rude film – just scary. I didn’t really care when I was younger. I didn’t like being told what to do.

Did you like Busted when they were together?

D – No me and Danny didn’t at all.

Dan – No I didn’t like it. Not my thing.

S – I did!

J – It's no skin off my nose.

James - did you ever consider going solo?
Matt, Kensington

I thought about going solo but I thought it wouldn’t be as much fun. I would have got a record contract whatever. I didn’t want people to come along and just want to use me to get famous.

D – I reckon being in a band with your mates is the best thing ever. It’s great that you can celebrate with the others.

J - Originally five members was the very maximum I was going to have. Everyone is important to the band but I was looking at four people right until the final day.

Do you think you'll surpass the achievements of Busted?

J - Yes I think Son Of Dork has the potential to be bigger than Busted. Busted were only around two years. Towards the end we were huge and had a worldwide appeal and I think that will help.

Do you think you'll have the same fans as Busted?
Gill, Derby

D - Of course man. I hope so.

Chris - Without a doubt.

James - We’ve already started getting fan mail from all over the world - places such as Brazil, Denmark, Japan, France and Australia. It's insane!

Are you still friends with Matt and Charlie?

J - Yes I saw them the other night actually. Charlie changed a lot while he was in Busted. Sometimes people don’t deal with fame very well.

Towards the end he started to hate the music. He hated the life and what people expected of him. People always expect you to act like you work at Disneyworld and smiley all of the time. That’s why he left.

Matt is going solo and will have a record out next year. We could have worked together but we decided against it. We just thought that because we had done Busted together we should do different things. We were both capable of establishing our own careers.

Were you surprised Matt went into rehab?
Ed, Wales

J - I thought it was good when he went into rehab. He was a good boy. He’s better now.

What do you think of Fightstar?

J - I don’t know a lot about that sort of music so I can’t really say. He has chosen to do a more alternative thing.

D - I’m not a fan. It’s not my sort of stuff.

J - Alternative music doesn’t have much of a fanbase.

Why are you called Son Of Dork? Is it because your dads are dorks?

J – It’s from a film called Problem Child. It was my decision. I think it is memorable and no one will forget the name.

It also abbreviates very well. If you do the initials you get ‘SOD’ which is cool. And we will be Son Of Pork if we all get fat.

D – And we might get called Son Of C***. Our dad’s weren’t dorks! They’d beat us up if we said that! Steve’s dad drives a Harley. He is rock 'n' roll.

Is Dave the real Dork of the band?

D – Probably. The debate has been a bit up in the air at the moment but yes I probably am.

C – Yeah he is a proper emo.

What were you doing before you joined the band?
Amy, Wellyn

Dan – I used to sell credit cards and run a woman’s shoe concession for Dorothy Perkins. I didn’t like the shoes but it paid me money!

D – I worked with computers. I was the town hero. I was a genius!

S – I was at college studying music technology and working part time at Sainsbury's.

C – I was playing guitar with Busted. I used to do the arena tours. I’m on the old DVDs with really bad long hair. It was like Danny’s from McFly. He modelled his hair on mine!

James, was it difficult finding new band members?
Angie, Bristol

J - I knew instantly which members I wanted. It was really hard though because I met a lot of bad people. I was under a lot of pressure to get the band together quickly. However I definitely wouldn’t have rushed if I didn’t think I had the right people.

D - We were the best of a bad bunch!

J - Danny was the best drummer I saw. Steve was the best singer.

Stu from Big Brother auditioned. Obviously he didn’t make the band but we gave him a fair audition. He was a seriously big fan of Busted. He said: "I love track 11 off your second album. It is is my favourite song ever".

Girls came to the audition but not very many. If a girl was good enough I would have had them in the band.

Are you trying to steer clear of the pop scene with Son Of Dork?

J - No not at all. We want to be a pop band!

S – Green Day are a pop band at the moment. They are playing arena tours.

J - I don’t want to be compared to boy bands just because we have five people though. I want people to know we are NOT a boy band. People who say that are wrong. 

What do you think of McFly?

C – They are good friends of ours. Danny is an awesome guitarist.

Dan – I never listened to their stuff before I joined this band but they are really talented boys.

J – They will have long careers for the right reasons. They played our video at their concert. A lot of fans who liked Busted liked McFly and now they like us.

Steve, I heard you put raw ham and peas in Dougie from McFly's bed. Is this true and if it is what were you doing in his bedroom?

S – Yes I did. It was my idea! We were round their house after they played Wembley.

What is the best/worst thing about being in a band?

S – I love it when fans flash their boobs! Some girls did it outside our studio the other day. Me and Danny actually ask if we can sign underneath the breast so we can hold it.

Dan - I love signing boobs.

J – I’ve done it a zillion times now.

C – The best thing is doing what you love doing with your mates.

D – We’re all such great mates! Me and James live together and the others live together.

J – Our apartments are next door so we may as well live together. We’re so close after just two months. We’ll be emotionally bound in no time!

Did you enjoy making the video to Ticket Outta Loserville? Did you get to pick the girls?

D – It was absolutely awesome.

J – Everything you want in a video. Hot girls, cool cars! One of them went topless.

S – James went to the casting! He said he was going to the Vodafone shop and it took him 13 hours. I wondered where he was!

What's the most embarrassing text message you've ever sent to somebody by accident?

C - I sent Blue’s old tour manager – this big bald guy - a really saucy text the other day. It was meant for a girl who was next to him on my phonebook. He didn’t reply.

If you could collaborate with any other band or act, past or present, who would it be and why?

S – Billie Joe from Green Day.
C – Slash.

J –Michael Jackson. He’s a legend. It’s obvious he is totally innocent.

Dan – David Grohl. He’s my favourite drummer.

D – Yeah he would be awesome.

James, what was Michael Jackson like when you met him? Georgie, Denmark

J – He’s a legend. I’m going to go to see Michael Jackson again soon. If I had the chance to be Michael Jackson’s friend I would definitely take him up on that.

You wear such cool clothes. Do you have a stylist?

C – We have a stylist who comes shopping with us. Basically we say what we like and she says yes or no.

D – It is just to ensure that I don’t have any fashion disasters. I don’t want to wear a pink top that might make me look like a blamange.

S – She is saving us from looking like a t**.

J – I love Back To The Future and I really wanted a Back To The Future hoodie the other day. However the stylist said ‘no’. In the end she felt bad and gave in. I just like wearing jeans and T-shirts. I’m not a fashion icon.

You all have such great hair. Do you choose your styles?

D – Yeah. I chose my hair. It is dark brown underneath. I think hair is really important. The first place you look at a person is their head. Everyone apart from Danny has to straighten their hair.

S – The good old GHDs! I reckon Dave is going to get Best Haircut award at The Smash Hits Poll Winners Party.

S – I’m not so keen on mine. I prefer my old hair. I had a huge quiff. I loved 50s music.

D – We all thought he was odd.

C – Yeah. He had belly button rings for earrings too.

J – I like looking after my hair. If I didn’t I would look like a freak of nature. I wouldn’t be able to have it this long because it goes so big. It is huge! It would touch you (I am sitting a metre away).

Would you date a fan?

D – No, it would be weird because they would know everything about us.

J – OK let's not lie about it. Every time we play a show they are like 'Look at that one. She's really fit'.

C – There was a really hot girl in the front row at CD:UK.

J - The other day there were 50 fans in our hotel waiting for us. And then there were some outside our studio. In Busted people didn’t do that.

Do you have a celebrity crush?
Devon and Fergie

D – Elisha Cuthbert.

C – Sienna Miller.

Dan – Christina Aguilera. She’s hot. And Jessica Alba.

S – Gwen Stefani or Keira Knightley.

J – Britney Spears. In Busted we wrote a song about her called All About Britney Spears. We went to No1 when Britney and Madonna went to No2 and No3. At the time me, Matt and Charlie were listening to the Top 40 in the car and Britney was on the radio saying ‘I know Busted. They wrote a song about me so it is OK’.

What is your favourite part of a woman’s body?

C – I really like the dimply bit you get on a woman’s shoulder blade. I find it really sexy.

S – The crease on a woman’s elbow. I love rubbing it.

D – I love tummys.

S – Gwen Stefani has the nicest stomach.

Dan – I love boobs and all the little dimples women get on the bottom of their backs.

J – Bums. Beyonce’s bum is awesome. However no one talks about Angelina Jolie’s a*** and they need to. J.Lo’s a*** has a brain.

Which celebrity has the best boobs?

Dan – Christina Aguilera has lovely boobs.

C – Angelina Jolie! Charlotte Church has a nice rack too.

J – Whenever I watch Charlotte Church in pop videos the thought of Jane MacDonald (from Cruise Ship) keeps coming into my head. Charlotte was an awesome classical singer. But in the pop world I don't think she can compare herself to Britney Spears or Beyonce. I don’t think her pop career will be as big as her classical career.

D – I’ve got a lot of respect for Charlotte Church. People drag her down because she smokes and she drinks but she is just your average girl.

If you were to swap bodies with a girl for the day who would it be and why?

Dan – Angelina Jolie. She has giant boobs and I wouldn’t leave the house.

S – I’d destroy myself. I’d invite loads of her girlfriends round so we could enjoy ourselves.

S - Dave would be Peggy Mitchell.

J – I had to dress up as Pat Butcher before and I ended up looking like Elton John.

Can you describe your fellow band members in one word?

All – Steve is geezer. Dave is mental. Chris is reassuring. James is a Spacecadet (the boys convince me that is one word). Danny is shy.

Is Danny shy in real life?

D - He is just shy on TV.

What is the highest grade examination you have done on the piano?

J – I’ve done no grades!

C – He is really good though.

Chris, I think that you are a brilliant guitar player. How long have you been playing, who is your inspiration and what is your dream guitar?

C – Thanks. I’ve been playing since I was four. My inspiration is probably Slash. A Gibson is my favourite guitar.

Dave, do you wear eyeliner?
Devon and Fergie

D – Yes I love eyeliner. I makes your eyes look so cool. I’ll be wearing it on stage soon. Green Day look fab wearing it.

Steve, if you could be any character from a Disney film, which would you be and why?

S – I love Disney films. I watched Tarzan this morning so I’d probably like to be him.

I’d love to swing through the trees like him with Jane. My favourite movie is probably The Sword In The Stone.

Steve, what was the worst thing you've ever been asked to do while working in Sainsbury's?

S - Cleaning up milk when it was spilt was pretty gross.

J - Talking about food, we don’t have anything in our fridge at home. When I go to Tescos I just can’t be bothered to shop. I just buy CDs and DVDs. I bought a David Hasselhoff DVD because it looked really good. David Hasselhoff at his best.

S – When I go to supermarkets I play this game where I just get random bits of food and put it in random people’s trolleys.

When are you guys planning to do a UK tour?

D – If we sell records we will!

C – People seem to be keen so far so hopefully next year.

Will you guys ever tour abroad?

J – Yes! I want to go to all the places I didn’t get to go when I was in Busted. I didn’t get to go to Brazil or South Africa or Australia. I will not rest until I have played big shows in all those places. I really want to play in a big venue in Rio.

D – He won’t sleep and he won’t eat until he does!

What is your favourite biscuit?

C – Chocolate hob-nob.

D – Yeah I agree with him.

S – Oreos. I love Nice biscuits too.

J – Oreos are the new Jaffa Cakes.

Dan – I just love Digestives.
